Executive Summary

Since 2004 SDF is running its projects on gender promotion through skills development in textile/ready made garment & other areas.

Our objective is to ‘teach people how to catch a fish’. We assist deserving people acquire marketable skills to alleviate poverty & create job opportunities (especially for females) which allows them to lead a dignified and peaceful life for themselves and hopefully for their generations to come.

Through Govt. & private sector partnership SDF has trained 4,325 females in sewing industry and 105 are trained in other areas.

Textile/ready made garment industry

A) Industrial Stitching Machine Operator Training Program

SDF as a project of ESRA (Education Sector Reform Assistance), a component of USAID training program has provided training in the following factories of Faisalabad, Karachi & Lahore.

Institute Management Committee (IMC) STEVTA Govt. of Sindh

SDF is nominated as an IMC head of following two female Govt. polytechnic institutes:

  1. Govt. polytechnic institute for women Landhi
  2. Govt. polytechnic institute for women Korangi

SDF has already established following programs in the said institutes:

  1. Mobile phone repairing program (established in May 2012)
  2. Laptop repairing program (established in Sep 2012)
